The Friends of Tod Creek Watershed, with help from Saanich Parks, recently received a $2, 000 grant from Fido-Evergreen to restore a portion of the natural area of Whitehead Park in Saanich (read more about the FoTCW’s plan’s for Whitehead Park here).  On October 22nd, members of the FoTCW gathered at the park to help students from nearby Prospect Lake Elementary plant alder trees given to them in our Gr. 3 Environmental Education Program.  Student Daniel is pictured above with Mary (a member of the FoTCW and Chair of Peninsula Streams) planting his healthy alder tree beside the bridge.   Thank you to all who attended the planting event!
