Yellow Fish: Storm Drain Marking

When stormwater runs off our roofs, down our driveways, and across our sidewalks, it carries everything in its path. Garbage, pesticides, paint, soap, oil, grease—it all gets swept down our storm drains, to our streams, and eventually out to the ocean.

Enter the Yellow Fish! Across Canada, the Yellow Fish is marked on storm drains as a reminder that what goes down our drains ends up in fish habitat. Part of the Stream to Sea education program by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), storm drain marking reminds us all to take better care of our underwater neighbours.

We support this nation-wide initiative by coordinating Yellow Fish events for schools and community groups. We'll provide the supplies, training, and (optional) supervision, and will ensure all permits are obtained prior to your event.
